The Ministry of Children and Family Development provides services that support healthy, safe environments where children and youth are connected to their family and community. The ministry delivers the majority of its services locally through contracted agencies as well as through centrally administered provincial programs.

The operations arm of the Procurement and Contract Management Branch consists of five teams supporting the ministry’s 13 service delivery areas and the provincial office by providing procurement and contract management services for over 3,000 contracts spanning six business lines (Early Years, Children and Youth with Special Needs, Child and Youth Mental Health, Child Safety, Family Support and Children in Care, Adoption and Youth Justice).

Reporting to a Procurement and Contract Specialist, the Contract Administrator is responsible for managing the flow of documents and transactions throughout the procurement cycle and for administering all aspects of a wide variety of contracted services including preparing, tendering, and awarding contracts. Primary duties include working with Procurement and Contract Specialists in contract creation and processing; maintaining and updating contract records, status logs, and tracking systems; processing contractor invoices; providing contract roll-up data; tracking financial expenditures; working with Procurement Finance Officers, Accounts Payable and Finance in ensuring accuracy of financial information; drafting correspondence; communicating with field offices and service providers as required; and other related duties.

Working in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of work, the ideal candidate is a team player who is able to work with a diverse group of stakeholders, has excellent Word and Excel skills, is highly organized with good math skills, and is detail and accuracy oriented. The position requires good judgement, and the ideal candidate enjoys challenging work.
