The Director, IM/IT Strategic Planning, provides expert advice with documented evidence to aid the Ministry of Health's executives in making informed decisions on, and establishing priorities for, significant IT investments. The role contributes to an effective and trusted IM/IT governance process, and is accountable for establishing a standard methodology and approach for IM/IT strategic planning and strategy development for the health sector.
Specifically, the Director, IM/IT Strategic Planning oversees the Ministry of Health's IM/IT planning team, ensuring the necessary people, process and technology supports are in place to align IM/IT planning to the Ministry's strategic priorities and policy direction. Under the Director’s leadership, this business unit provides IM/IT advice to the Ministry of Health and the BC Health Sector, in such areas as:  1) IM/IT strategic planning services; 2) Annual IM/IT action plan setting; 3) solution identification and support to meet the Ministry of Health's strategic priorities, such as enabling the Primary Care Home; and, 4) supporting the continuous improvement of IM/IT services through active participation in transformation initiatives led by HSIMIT division.
