An eligibility list may be established to fill permanent and/or temporary vacancies.

As a key member of the Aboriginal Policy Team you will provide analysis, advice and recommendations to support inclusion of Aboriginal peoples and their perspectives throughout the Ministry’s policy development process and help facilitate linkages between Indigenous models of practice, research and policy.  As Policy Analyst you will be directly involved in research and analysis on a variety of Aboriginal policy issues and will be expected to work collaboratively and cooperatively with Ministry policy teams, Aboriginal partners, other ministries and other levels of government to provide analysis, options/recommendations and coordinate/integrate policy solutions which work towards meeting the needs of Aboriginal children, youth and families.

The Policy Analyst will be directly involved in research and analysis on a variety of Aboriginal policy issues and will be expected to work collaboratively and cooperatively with Ministry policy teams, Aboriginal partners, other Ministries and other levels of government to provide analysis, options/recommendations and coordinate/integrate policy solutions which work towards meeting the needs of Aboriginal children, youth and families. The Analyst will be required to work within a complex, culturally diverse, politically sensitive decision-making environment. Issues frequently entail overlapping jurisdictions with the federal government, other provincial ministries, government agencies, various sectors and community organizations. This environment demands policy development and supporting work to be creative, culturally appropriate, effective, technically sound, fiscally sustainable and responsible. The work must also be forward thinking, aligned with government priorities and inclusive of the needs and aspirations of Aboriginal people.

Preference will be given to applicants who self-identify as an Aboriginal person with the required combination of education and experience.
