The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) is responsible for the security of government's electronic information and developing the policies, standards and programs that protect sensitive and personal information.

Within the OCIO, the Information Security Branch (ISB) provides the overall governance for information security to support the secure delivery of government programs.  Through its Information Security Program the ISB ensures programs, plans and processes are in place to appropriately manage the risks to the confidentiality, integrity and availability of government information. The ISB provides subject matter experts in support of the OCIO’s responsibilities of developing security policy, architecture and standards and provides specialist consulting to strategic government projects and initiatives.  Within the ISB, the IT Security Operations unit is responsible for the design, build and operation of the enterprise security infrastructure. This includes acquisition of hardware and software to support a Security Operations Centre responsible for access control and incident response. The unit reports to the Director of Cybersecurity Intelligence and Investigations.

As the Senior Network Analyst, your role will be to build, operate and oversee the security infrastructure of government’s shared network.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:



  • Bachelors Degree in the computer science, computer engineering  or data networking field;  diploma, certification or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

  • Preference may be given to applicants with professional designation as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).

  • 5 years’ experience working at a senior technical analyst level in a large network environment.

  • Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

    • experience with Firewall, IDS/IPS and/or SIEM technologies

    • UNIX platform administration and scripting

    • Database tuning and/or administration

    • Windows Directory services

    • IT security architecture or service development

    • IT Network or Security Vendor Certifications

  • Experience managing large scale security infrastructure projects, preference may be given to applicants with 3 years of project management experience.

  • Perform duties after hours and/or on weekends on occasion.  This role may require the occasional shift work.
