The Public Information section in the Public Information and Corporate Services Branch (PICS) plans and delivers best-in-class public information and education programs to support the ministry’s goals of customer service excellence, accountability, professionalism, and the building and supporting of partnerships. The section develops and manages a range of projects and initiatives to support citizen-centered tax administration which includes managing the division’s internet. Taxpayer programs are province-wide and include information, policy and interpretation of provincial tax programs (i.e. consumer, property, income and natural resource taxes).
 
As the web content strategist, you will provide critical web design, development and update services for ministry programs within the division with public facing web content.  You will collaborate with  program areas to modernize, write and publish all content, ensuring government web standards and guidelines are adhered to.  In this role, you are responsible for conducting user experience research and testing with citizens and other web content users.

Qualifications:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

 


  • Degree or diploma in English, Library Science, User Experience Design, Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of related experience, education or training.

  • One year experience practicing user experience design, planning and managing web properties including experience in information architecture, content strategy and writing, and interaction design or an equivalent combination of related experience, education or training.

  •  Preference may be given to those candidates who have experience working in Content Management Systems

  • Preference may be given to those candidates who have experience of interpreting policy and legislation
