Corporate Services for the Natural Resources (CSNR) will be conducting the hiring process to fill this current vacant Intermediate Full Stack Developer position in the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development. An eligibility list may be established for future permanent and/or temporary opportunities.  The Ministry responsible for this posting will be the owner of any potential resulting eligibility list and may elect to share it with any of the five Natural Resource ministries CSNR supports, based on operational requirements. Please see below for more information on these ministries.

Corporate Services for the Natural Resource Ministries is unique in that it is the largest corporate services organization across the BC public service. CSNR serves the five Natural Resource ministries.
The five ministries include:
1. Agriculture (AGRI);
2. Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources (EMPR);
3. Environment and Climate Change Strategy (ENV);
4. Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development (FLNRORD), and
5. Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation (IRR).

Responsibilities of the Intermediate Full Stack Developer include providing technical expertise and advice in the design and development of new and/or enhanced custom applications, lead the technical implementation of custom applications, conduct technical quality assurance audits / post implementation reviews, design, code, test and implement application fixes; and update, document and support infrastructure related tools and utilities.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Degree, diploma, certification or equivalent in the computer science field. Other combination of education, experience and/or training may be considered. 

  • Experience in a broad number of modern application development tools.

  • Experience working in an agile development environment to iteratively create or improve digital products and services.

  • Experience in data modelling, process modelling, and/or business area analysis techniques.

  • Recent experience in one (1) or more of the following areas: in Frontend development, Backend development, DevOps, UX design, Operational Support, Infrastructure, Middle tier or Database Administration.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Experience with REST Web API development and integration.

  • Experience with JavaScript Frontend (AngularJS, ReactJS) development.

  • Experience with continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment practices.
