Salary $72,000 - $100,000 annually

The Financial Institutions Commission (“FICOM”) is a provincial regulatory agency responsible for administering multiple regulatory programs, such as pension, financial services and real estate industries in British Columbia, each of which has different legislative requirements. Under these statutes, Financial Institutions Division (“FID”) administers a system of regulatory rules governing prudential and market conduct of credit unions, trust companies, insurance companies, captive insurance companies and other entities. 
The Senior Supervisor undertakes analysis and assessment of the risk profile and risk management practices of provincially regulated financial institutions, and participates in reviews of central and more complex institutions.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:


  • Education: University degree in a field related to finance, economics, or business; Masters, and/or professional designations (e.g. FRM, CFA) are preferred.

  • At least three years of demonstrated experience in risk management or regulatory work in the financial services sector.

  • At least 3 years of experience with credit union, insurance, trust, and/or banking sectors.

  • Demonstrated recent experience with financial analysis techniques and business operational procedures.

  • Experience with credit, liquidity, market, operational, and/or systemic risks as they apply to financial institutions.

  • Experience with engaging stakeholders and developing those relationships.
