Salary $53,000.15 - $74,000.21 annually

The Financial Institutions Commission (FICOM) safeguards confidence and stability in British Columbia´s financial sector by protecting consumers from undue loss and unfair market conduct.  FICOM is a regulatory agency of the British Columbia Government. FICOM is responsible for administering nine statutes that regulate the pension, financial services and mortgage brokers sectors in British Columbia.

In this role, you will manages governance practices that enable the Financial Institutions Commission, the Credit Union Deposition Insurance Corporation Board (“CUDIC Board”) and the Superintendent of Financial Institutions and CEO to meet their statutory, operational and prudential accountabilities.  As corporate secretary, manages meeting logistics, information production and retention, and communications activities for the FICOM Board, the CUDIC Board, and the FICOM Executive Management Team. You will also manage financial and operational planning, program logistics, and reporting activities for the CEO’s Office.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
• Degree in business, finance, law, political science, communications, or other field directly related to the position accountabilities
• 3 years’ experience in a management role directly supporting a governing body (e.g., Board of Directors, regulatory decision making authority) and executive leadership (e.g., operational senior management team)
• Experience supervising administrative and/or technical staff

Preference may be given to:
• Governance and/or operational administration experience in the public sector environment
• Experience interpreting, applying and administrating governance legislation
• Experience working with one or more financial sectors regulated by FICOM
